If you forgive people their trespasses and let them go, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others - neither will He forgive you. Matthew 6:14, 15
God demands us to forgive our brother or He will not forgive us.
Unforgiveness is a barrier that stands between many Christians to find solutions to problems; to find fulfillment and satisfaction; to find peace and blessings from God. Jesus' death and resurrection removed all barriers and curses. We believe and know that, but then something is holding us back from spiritual progress, and if it continues, we know this is not from God. It is usually that we have unforgiveness of a brother or sister.
Jesus warns we must forgive our enemies, but especially other Christians. If we want to receive what we ask from God, first we must forgive. There are many Christians who are in a place where their prayers are not being answered, because of unforgiveness. Even Job had to forgive his friends and pray for them. And it was not before he did so that God started to restore his life.(Job 42:8 & 10). Psalm 91 is a beautiful description of a right relationship with God. "If we are to live in the secret place of the Most High, then forgiveness is the first step, and only then will the Lord deliver us from the snare of the devil." The opposite to forgiveness means an eternal torment.
I have done so much wrong before this day and I have prayed the prayer of forgiveness of everyone I believe I have wronged. So ask for forgiveness of those you can reach, if not, just say a prayer of forgiveness to God. You know what will happen if we don't, so be forgiving brothers and sisters. But if we do often seek forgiveness quickly.
Be forgiving brothers and sisters.
Be forgiving,
Daniel
